Less-wordy Wednesday 98 - Back from the vet's

This is my dog on drugs.


Bella went in for some dental work last Friday and this is what she looked like when she came home.

Bella is very sensitive to medications. I felt bad for my vet. He kept telling me how they only gave her half the dose of the knock-out drug approved for her size but she was "still groggy".

Still groggy? I had to sit with her in the back of the car on the way home because she kept falling over.

Oh Bella, you poor pathetic pup.

Not to worry, she's back to her old self and happy as a clam again. Although she did climb into bed with us both Saturday and Sunday morning. (She never does that.)

I think she was trying to tell us she loves us.

    Did she just have a tooth cleaning or did she need some teeth pulled? I should really take Gretel in for a thorough teeth cleaning. The anesthesia free teeth cleaning we got was really just a Band-Aid.

    They did a deep cleaning and no extractions but there was the possibility of an extraction which is why we went through with the anesthesia option. First, as you know, Bella's a fearful dog so even a routine cleaning isn't really an option for our vet. But also, she cracked a tooth a few years ago and we've been watching it. The vet wasn't sure if it needed pulling or not so we did the whole shebang. The tooth that's cracked still looks like it's okay though so they didn't pull it.
