Today it's even more of a privilege to tell you that she has been adopted! Her new forever family brought her to her new forever home a few weeks ago and I'm happy to report, she is doing great in her new climes.
I think one of the best policies NEARR has in place is the requirement that adopting families provide periodic updates throughout the life of an adopted dog. This allows those of us who have fallen in love with the dogs in our care the ability to watch them thrive in their new homes. It's my favorite part of volunteering with this organization. You can read those stories on NEARR's Happy Tails page.
Congratulations, Lekoda! Have fun in your new life.
And thank you to everyone who shared her story helping her new family find their new beautiful family member. :)
Thanks to Two Little Cavaliers, Life with Dogs, and Confessions of a Plume for hosting the Saturday Pet Blogger Hop. |
We are glad she found a forever home!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy days! So glad she found a home!

What a beautiful girl. Thanks for sharing the good news with us.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Lekoda got a forever home. That's really great that the new families keep you updated.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story...we like to hear happy endings! And you'll get to keep up with her new life! What a deal.
ReplyDeleteWell that's great news! Nice idea about the updates too. Deccy x
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for y'all! It's always a time of celebration when a fellow pawed one finds a forever family to make 'em happy.
Y'all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
That's such great news!! So happy for Lekoda and her new family - love that we get an update! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy :)
It's awesome when things go right, isn't it?
ReplyDelete:) Thanks Nola. I'm glad I was able to give everybody a happy update.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pamela, It's a great pleasure to do so. We hear of so many in need but seldom get the follow up to know what happened to them. It's nice when we "win" one. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't that part awesome?
ReplyDeleteMany of 'our' dogs come to us from families that are loathe to give up their pets but have to due to unforeseen circumstances. That policy gives a sense of follow up to the families who really would rather have done anything but abandon their dog. By 'giving' them to us, they've done the most responsible thing they possibly could have for their beloved pet.
I know, right? And I fell in love with Lekoda. Of course, Lucy (http://nearr.com/happy_tails/index.php?s=lucy&submit=Search) is the dog that truly stole my heart. I'm so happy for where she landed but it is also great to be able to watch her in her new life.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a great policy? It must be hard to find yourself in a situation where you have to give up your pet but if you ever did, wouldn't you want to be able to see that they're happy in their new life?
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a time to celebrate. We need to remember to do more of that. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the updates, too. It's my favorite part of volunteering with this group so I just had to share the news with everybody here as well. :)
