In light of the high winds advisory we had blasting through Massachusetts over the weekend, this seemed an appropriate time to bring this one out of the closet.
You've probably all seen this video that was making the rounds last year of a cat
This was Jan's (rather unique) perspective on it:
January 29, 2010 |
Perspective: it's all in how you see it.
* No animals were harmed in the making of this video. And, while personally I'd be screaming bl**dy murder if that were my cat, it's not like they deliberately put the cat in danger. The darn cat did that all by himself.
Thanks to Alfie, Snoopy, Luna and My Brown Newfies for bringing us the Monday Mischief Pet Blog Hop. Make sure you hop on through to the other blogs to see what trouble our various critters have gotten into over the weekend. |
Haha! Love Jan's remark about that video!
ReplyDeleteBOL hilarious!
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
Good grief, I hadn't seen that! What a brave (or stupid!) cat. Wind can be pretty scary too, that cat might be scared of wind:)
ReplyDeleteWow!!
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a very brave CAT!!
Have a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy :)
Hahahaha... Jan's comment is the best!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what some cats think they can take on!
ReplyDeleteWow. Hadn't seen this one. If it had been my cat, there wouldn't be video. I would have dropped the camera. Don't know what I think I would do, but my first thought wouldn't be getting a video. lol
ReplyDeleteJan has a pretty dry wit, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteI was hoping people would get a chuckle as I did. :)
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteI guess it's a good idea to keep a sense of humor about these things. ;)
I know - what a crazy beast. You ever seen this:
ReplyDeletehttp://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n275/arkarthicked/smashingzine/life-as-mirror-cat-sees-lion.jpg Kind of says it all about cats. ;)
That's a CRAZY cat! Actually, I think the bear is just a cub and probably was as scared as the cat. ;)
ReplyDeleteHe does make me laugh (the first thing I look for in a man. ;)
ReplyDelete"Think"? This one did! The bear ran away - can you believe it? Confidence will get you everywhere, I guess. ;)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I think they didn't know the cat was outside when they started video taping the bear... But geez, I'd have probably dropped the camera at some point. (That said, the cat did kind of win so...)
ReplyDelete"Dry"? It's downright Saharan. ;)
ReplyDelete(Lots of people don't "get" him so, thanks for noticing. :)
Jan is funny :) I can't believe those people were laughing so hard at their cat attacking the bear! Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I would have been out the door chasing the bear away before I could even think (stupid, I know!) I tagged you on my blog! http://www.thedailydogblog.com/dogs/ive-been-tagged
ReplyDeleteWell, he's got a point! We've never seen that before. We were wondering if the woman is laughing due to hysteria or is it more "oh how terribly funny, the big bear is about to eat Tiddles... come & watch everyone......." Deccy x
ReplyDeleteCraziness! My cat is no where near that brave! He shrinks to the floor if a car drives by our house too fast. My dog however, can be quite dense, and I can actually picture her tussling with a bear. Ugh. It makes me glad to live in a very urban area.
ReplyDeleteNever saw this one before! I'm thinking that bear had tried that before with the same result (otherwise, like you, I don't know how the people could be sitting there laughing it up). Oh, and maybe they should have started feeding kitty inside after that first encounter?
ReplyDeleteSo funny what Jan wrote!
ha ha ha. that's great! poor bella <3
ReplyDeleteHi Julie, thanks for the tag. (Got that one up before I got too far behind. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you re: how I would have handled this situation. All I can think is it's a cub and they've done this before. (Either that or it's one of those "laughing at a funeral" kind of totally inappropriate but inexplicable reactions...)
Yeah, I know, still thought it was funny. :)
ReplyDeleteI've honestly no idea what they're thinking. I'm just glad we don't have bears around here. It's nerve-wracking enough to walk Bella knowing she'll pick a fight with any animal that happens through the yard - the last thing I need is anything more dangerous than a raccoon to wander through. :o
Aww. Poor kitty. I think Shiva and Bella would have the same reaction and it's exactly what makes me nervous about living in a not 'very urban area'.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there has to be history there that we're not privy to... Although, you know, I know people around here let their cats out - they have to deal with (busy) streets and loose dogs, never mind wild animals like fox, coyote, raccoons, weasels and fisher cats. This cat probably had a better chance against a bear than most of those animals...
ReplyDeleteBut it does put things in perspective. Too bad we couldn't get Bella to understand the video. ;)
Oh don't feel too bad for Bella. Jan may tease but she has her hu-dad wrapped around her little dewclaw. ;)
